Mary Kathryn Clabert Rodrigue

Guiding people toward wellness in both mind and body-especially helping cancer patients and their families adjust to life after diagnosis and treatment-has been at the heart of Mary Kathryn's career.

Mary Kathryn's expertise and teaching experience includes research, counseling theories, group counseling, family therapy and psycho-oncology, which is considered relatively new among the medical and oncology fields. In this subspecialty, Mary Kathryn has designed therapeutic supportive care treatment programs based on cancer patients' situations and diagnoses, helping them and their families navigate the psychological aspects of cancer and focus on emotional well-being and overall wellness.

Mary Kathryn founded and currently owns The Wellness Studio, LLC that specializes in mental health counseling. While serving as the director of survivorship/genetics coordinator at a cancer center, she oversaw several patient services programs, including a survivorship program and psychosocial assessments and treatment plans for patients and their families. Her patient navigation and counseling experience started early in her career-as the director of the psycho-oncology training program at another cancer center, she oversaw social work and counseling professionals.

Oncology certified, Mary Kathryn is a national certified counselor and licensed as a professional counselor by the Louisiana Licensed Professional Counselor Board of Examiners. She is the founder and chairman of the board of the Drew Rodrigue Foundation; co-founder of Y.A.T.S. Against Cancer; an advisor to the You Night Foundation; was a member of the Louisiana Economic Development CEO Roundtable, the American Psychosocial Oncology Society, the American Counseling Association and the Louisiana Counseling Association. She received her bachelor of science degree in psychology with a minor in history from the University of Alabama and her M.Ed and Ph.D. in counselor education from the University of New Orleans.
